Our joint impact

This is how your contribution is made up

True to our guideline “Preserve existing forests, create new forests”, your contribution will be used in two ways. Just €5 enables us to preserve one square meter of Amazonian primary rainforest in Peru (Yurimaguas region) and thus ensure the survival of the endemic poison dart frog species Ranitomeya Fantastica -Nominat-.

In addition, you enable the planting of a tree (various native tree species) and thus the renaturation of German spruce forests that have been affected (coordinates: 53.584696, 13.795178).

Your contribution combines local and global commitment.

Your contribution combines local and global commitment. You will receive an individual certificate with your order. Once you have created a profile, your contribution will be recorded there and you can check your place in our tree ranking list. Have fun!

400,000 m2 of protected rainforest in the Peruvian Amazon

As part of our trip through Amazonia in March 2022, we visited a special place on earth. The home of the Fantastic Tree Steiger. An island of forest measuring just a few hectares that is apparently about to suffer the same fate as its immediate surroundings. The ground vegetation that had already been cut in some places only led to the conclusion that clearing was soon to take place in favor of palm oil fields and cattle pastures. This would mean that the frog, which was believed to be extinct until 2011, is actually dying out just 11 years after its rediscovery. It is Ranitomeya Fantastica in the -nominate- color variant. A frog the size of a thumbnail, which is in no way inferior to the colorfulness of colorful macaws.

11,000 trees planted in Germany’s forests

In cooperation with our partner Agrargesellschaft Neuensund and Landesforst MV, we have already planted 11,000 trees in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Firstly, we planted 5000 copper beeches in the forests around Strasburg/Uckermark in order to reforest the sections of spruce forest that had suffered damage. Secondly, we planted 6,000 sessile oaks on a previously intensively and mainly conventionally used field in order to restore it to its natural state.

10,000 m² of protected rainforest in Amazonia

From the very beginning of our idea, it was clear that if we protect forests, it has to be a very special one. The one with the greatest biodiversity on our planet, popularly known as “the green lung of the earth”, which feeds the largest river system on earth and yet is under threat as never before. The Amazon rainforest.

5,000 m² of protected rainforest in Costa Rica

Hey nature lovers. We take you on a trip to Costa Rica. We, in this case, means me Félix, one of the three founders of Plant for Future, accompanied by my wife Kim. Our motivation to visit the Central American country was threefold. On the one hand, we wanted to see for ourselves how the state of Costa Rica understands its nature for what it is, namely an immeasurably valuable treasure that needs to be protected, and on the other hand, we wanted to see for ourselves where we as Plant for Future have already been able to help and where our help will also be needed in the future to preserve this unique natural treasure.

Our promise

Despite all the playful components that our platform offers, the intention behind it is a serious and highly urgent one. Credibility and transparency are our top priorities. Just as we put our partners through their paces to save the environment, you too can take a look at our balance sheets. We are committed to openly communicating all payments, which are published in a final report prepared at the end of the year, thus guaranteeing you a clear overview of our use of funds.

Our use of funds

“What happens to my money?”

This is a question that every donor should ask themselves and is answered below. After almost three years, we look at this fairly clear pie chart with some pride. 86.6% in favor of buying forests and planting trees!

5.5% unavoidable percentage for administrative costs incurred for notaries, tax management, account management fees and the like.

6.5% Website costs that make donations possible in the first place.

This leaves 1.4% marketing costs, which were incurred for flyers, a trade fair stand and shirts.

0.0% personnel costs mean that we work on a voluntary basis and have also paid for necessary trips to Peru privately.
